Development of Chronological Scrapbook Media in History Learning to Improve Vocational High School Students' Learning Outcomes

History learning is still predominantly conducted through lectures and textbooks, making it difficult for students to understand historical events chronologically and resulting in suboptimal learning outcomes. Previous studies have mainly focused on digital scrapbooks or scrapbook media to enhance creativity, while the development of chronological scrapbook media for history learning remains limited. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a chronological scrapbook on the Diponegoro War topic and examine its feasibility and effectiveness in improving the learning outcomes of Grade XI students at SMK PGRI 1 Sidoarjo. This Research and Development (R&D) study employed the ADDIE model involving 21 students of Grade XI TKR 1. Data were collected through observations, interviews, expert validation, and pre-test and post-test assessments, then analyzed using percentage analysis and the normalized gain (N-Gain). The results showed that the media obtained a material expert validation score of 92.5% and a media expert validation score of 87.5%, both categorized as very good. Students' average scores increased from 37.14 in the pre-test to 92.14 in the post-test, with an N-Gain score of 0.882 (high category). The novelty of this study lies in the development of a chronological scrapbook that systematically presents historical events to facilitate students' understanding of historical chronology. This study contributes an alternative visual learning media that effectively supports history learning and improves students' learning outcomes in vocational high schools.
