The purpose of the study was majorly to determine whether there was a correlation between the competence of the history teacher and learning activities in the odd semester VII graders of MTsN 2 Banyuwangi in the 2015/2016 academic year and the minor was divided into two, namely Minor I, whether there was a correlation between teacher competence and learning activities in the classroom. Class VII odd semester students of MTsN 2 Banyuwangi Academic Year 2015/2016 and minor II is whether or not there is a correlation of teacher competence with learning activities outside the classroom in odd semester students of class VII MTsN 2 Banyuwangi Academic Year 2015/2017. The hypothesis proposed in this study is as follows: the major hypothesis is that there is a relationship between teacher competence and student learning activities in class VII odd semester of MTsN 2 Banyuwangi in the 2015/2016 academic year. While the minor hypothesis is divided into two, namely minor I is there is a relationship between teacher competence and student learning activities in school in class VII odd semester MTsN 2 Banyuwangi in the 2015/2016 academic year, and minor II is there is a relationship between teacher competence and student learning activities at home in class VII odd semester MTsN 2 Banyuwangi academic year 2015/2016. The null hypothesis (Ho) in the major working hypothesis is that there is no correlation between teacher competence and learning activities in class VII students in the odd semester of MTsN 2 Banyuwangi in the 2015/2016 academic year.
