THE EXISTENCE OF BLAMBANGAN PURA AGUNG IN BANYUWANGI
Abstract
Pura Agung Blambangan is the most frequently visited temple by Hindus in Banyuwangi and outside the Banyuwangi Regency area. Because the temple has a historical connection with the Last Hindu Kingdom (Kingdom of Blambangan). Pura Agung Blambangan other than as a place of worship is also used as a place of religious tourism for Hindus in particular. The author tries to research and explore with reference to the formulation of the problem, among others: 1) What is the history of Pura Agung Blambangan. 2) How is the existence of Pura Agung Blambangan. 3) What are the impacts of the existence of Pura Agung Blambangan. And 4) How is it relevant to education. This study aims to determine the history of Pura Agung Blambangan, the historical values of Pura Agung Blambangan, and the impacts that have been given to the existence of Pura Agung Blambangan in the social and educational fields. The data mining used was a qualitative descriptive method with the main sources consisting of traditional stakeholders, temple administrators, traders around the temple and the community around the temple. While secondary data obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The results show that the existence of Pura Agung Blambangan has a history related to the Blambangan Kingdom. In Pura Agung Blambangan there is a well that is sacred and is considered a former spring or water from the Blambangan Kingdom. With the existence of historical relics and as a sacred place, Pura Agung Blambangan has a positive impact on residents around the temple at a social and economic level. The Pura Agung Blambangan building which is located in the midst of the Muslim community provides values of tolerance in religious harmony.
