THE ROLE OF SELF-EFFICACY IN THE EFFECTS OF CREATIVITY, COMMUNICATION, AND LEARNING INDEPENDENCE ON ECONOMICS LEARNING READINESS

Abstract

This study examines the role of self-efficacy in the effects of creativity, communication, and learning independence on economics learning readiness among grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Bungo. The study used a quantitative explanatory survey design involving all 150 students as respondents. Data were collected through a structured four-point Likert questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The refined measurement model met the requirements for convergent validity and reliability, with Average Variance Extracted values above 0.50 and Cronbach alpha values above 0.70. The structural model explained 76.3% of the variance in economics learning readiness and showed predictive relevance. The results indicate that communication and self-efficacy have positive and significant effects on learning readiness, whereas creativity and learning independence do not show significant direct effects. The paths through self-efficacy show significant effects for creativity and communication, but not for learning independence. These findings suggest that economics learning readiness can be improved by strengthening classroom communication and students’ confidence in completing academic tasks.
