Perbedaan Motivasi Sosial Berolahraga antara Mahasiswa Laki-Laki dan Perempuan: Tinjauan Teori Self-Determination

Partisipasi olahraga mahasiswa dipengaruhi oleh faktor psikologis, khususnya motivasi sosial yang dapat bertindak sebagai pendorong maupun penghambat dalam keterlibatan aktivitas fisik, dan respons tersebut kerap berbeda antara kelompok laki-laki dan perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan motivasi olahraga dalam aspek sosial berdasarkan gender, serta mengidentifikasi apakah faktor sosial lebih berfungsi sebagai stimulus positif atau hambatan dalam aktivitas olahraga mahasiswa. Penelitian dilakukan melalui desain analisis deskriptif yang dijalankan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui angket berskala Likert yang mencakup empat aspek motivasi sosial, yaitu dukungan sosial, interaksi sosial, hambatan sosial, serta self-efficacy dan otonomi. Sampel terdiri atas 44 mahasiswa aktif FPOK UPI (20 laki-laki dan 24 perempuan). Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa tidak ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan perbedaan motivasi sosial berolahraga antara dua kelompok responden dengan nilai L (3.32) dan P (3.35). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keduanya memiliki tingkat motivasi sosial dalam berolahraga yang relatif sama pada mahasiswa di FPOK UPI. Implikasi penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar penyusunan strategi peningkatan partisipasi olahraga yang lebih adaptif terhadap perbedaan kebutuhan sosial berdasarkan gender.
