The development of beauty products encourages innovation with cheap and easily obtained raw materials. The existence of Eucheuma cottonii seaweed is spread across several regions in Indonesia, its content is no longer in doubt as a raw material for beauty and pharmaceutical products. One innovation in the use of E. cottonii as a raw material for body scrub is the addition of white rice (Oryza sativa L.). This study aims to determine the physical characteristics (homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion) and chemical (water content and pH) of body scrubs made from E. cottonii and white rice. This study used quantitative experiments, with a concentration comparison treatment between E. cottonii and white rice (L1) 1:1, (L2) 1:2, (L3) 2:1, and (L4) 2:2. Data collection techniques include physical characteristics including homogeneity tests, spreadability tests, and adhesion. For chemical characteristics include water content tests and pH tests. The results showed that concentration (b), namely a comparison of 1:2 obtained the best spreadability (5.5 stitches) and adhesion (5 minutes) which were significantly different from other treatments. Likewise, the water content at concentration (b) of 65% and the level of homogeneity are significantly different from other treatments. The comparative composition of E. cottonii and white rice can be the basis for the formulation of making body scrubs for future innovation.
