Analisis Jadwal Preventive Maintenance Vertical Roller Mill Menggunakan MTBF, MTTR, dan RCA
Abstract
The Vertical Roller Mill Type MPS 4500 BC Pfeiffer is a critical machine in the cement raw material grinding process whose reliability directly affects production continuity. Frequent machine failures have increased downtime and reduced machine availability, highlighting the need to evaluate the existing preventive maintenance schedule. This study aimed to analyze machine downtime and availability, identify the root causes of failures, and develop a more effective preventive maintenance schedule. The study applied the Mean Time Between Failures, Mean Time To Repair, and Root Cause Analysis methods using historical failure data from January to December 2025. The results showed 63 machine failures with a total downtime of 1.019,25 hours and an initial availability of 76,98%. The Hydraulic Pump and Bearing Gear were identified as the most critical components, while wear, leakage, corrosion, contamination, misalignment, and material fatigue were the primary causes of failure. Based on the analysis, a preventive maintenance schedule with maintenance frequencies ranging from three to nine times per year was proposed, increasing machine availability to 92,32%. These findings demonstrate that a reliability-based preventive maintenance schedule can improve machine reliability and support production continuity.
